
Dauphin County man killed in fiery I-83 crash identified by police.
Pennsylvania State Police have identified a man from Dauphin County who lost his life in a tragic accident on Interstate 83. The incident occurred in Fairview Township, York County, near Exit 40, New Cumberland, on September 28 at 7:44 a.m. The vehicle crashed in the southbound lanes after striking a concrete barrier, causing a fire to erupt due to a ruptured fuel tank. The driver, Marco Ambrocio Gonzalez, 33, from Harrisburg, sadly passed away at the scene. The York County coroner ruled his death as accidental. Fortunately, two passengers in their 20s who were also in the vehicle suffered only minor injuries. Bystanders who witnessed the crash acted quickly to help rescue the occupants. The affected section of Interstate 83 was closed for over eight hours before reopening to traffic.
