
Construction incident leaves over 1,800 customers powerless
Update as of 10:40 a.m.: Rocky Mountain Power has reported that only one customer in the vicinity of the construction accident is currently experiencing a power outage. Following a construction incident in West Jordan, Utah, on Thursday morning, over 1,800 West Jordan residents were left without power. The outage occurred due to a construction crew hitting a line during a road expansion project near 8600 West, as announced by West Jordan City around 9:30 a.m. Initially reported just after 9 a.m. on Rocky Mountain Power's outage map, the affected area is located west of the South Valley Regional Airport. The restoration of power, originally estimated before 12:30 p.m., is being investigated on-site by crews.
