Community in Bel Air grieves loss of 16-year-old girl killed in crash
A candlelight vigil was held to honor 16-year-old Blake Elliott, who tragically lost her life in a car accident on MD 543 near Crescent Knoll Drive. The crash involved Elliott and a 17-year-old driver who is currently in critical but stable condition. The community has shown an outpouring of support by creating a memorial near the crash site and leaving items like flowers, pictures, and a hoodie. Elliott's father expressed gratitude for the support during the vigil, where friends, classmates, and teammates shared heartfelt memories of her. Elliott was remembered as a bright light, a funny person, and a talented soccer player loved by all who knew her. Michael Nolan from nonprofit Breathe 379 expressed his condolences and shared that the organization aims to provide comfort and support to those affected by the tragedy. The Harford County Sheriff's Office is still investigating the crash to determine if charges will be filed. As a precaution, all after-school activities at C. Milton Wright High School were canceled, and a GoFundMe page has been set up to assist the Elliott family during this difficult time.
