CNBC personality worried about impending stock market crash.

Andrew Ross Sorkin, co-anchor of CNBC's "Squawk Box” and financial columnist for The New York Times, has expressed concern about a potential stock market crash that could echo the 1929 Wall Street crash, which played a significant role in the Great Depression. Sorkin highlighted his worries about the current market prices and the possibility of a bubble in technology and artificial intelligence sectors. He also pointed out the elevated speculation and debt levels in the market, along with the loosening of regulatory safeguards. Sorkin's apprehensions intensified following the recent market decline, triggered by President Trump's announcement of a 100 percent tariff on China in response to the country's export control measures on specific rare earth materials. Trump stated that the U.S. would impose the tariff and export controls starting November 1st, 2025, due to China's actions. China's restrictions are scheduled to take effect on December 1st.
