Child injured, hospitalized in crash in northeast Las Vegas valley
In northeast Las Vegas, an intersection was closed due to a crash involving a child being hit and taken to the hospital on Monday evening. The incident occurred around 4:52 p.m. near the intersection of Lake Mead Boulevard and Pecos Road. According to Las Vegas Metro police, a vehicle traveling east on Lake Mead Boulevard collided with a child who ran into the street. The child sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital. Motorists are advised to steer clear of the area as a section of Lake Mead Boulevard between Pecos and Walnut is currently shut down.
