Child dies in multiple vehicle collision, according to coroner's office
A tragic incident occurred on Saturday in Greenville County, South Carolina, where a child lost their life in a multi-car crash at an intersection. The collision, which took place at the junction of Augusta Road and Matrix Parkway in Piedmont around 3:30 p.m., resulted in one fatality and six injuries. The accident ensued when an SUV making a left turn onto Matrix Parkway from Augusta Road was struck by a truck. This initial impact led to subsequent collisions involving another SUV and a car at the intersection. Unfortunately, one of the individuals involved in the crash, seven-year-old Caius Blakely from Woodruff, passed away at the hospital. Both the Greenville County Coroner’s Office and the South Carolina Highway Patrol are actively investigating the incident, with an autopsy scheduled for Monday to further examine the circumstances surrounding this devastating event.
