Charges filed against Iowa man in fatal motorcycle accident
A 23-year-old man from Albia, Iowa, named Kaelin Meinders, is facing charges in connection to a motorcycle accident that led to the death of a 15-year-old teenager named Santiago "Santi" Rhone. Meinders was riding the motorcycle when it collided with Rhone in the 4900 block of NE 29th Street. Rhone, who was a sophomore at Des Moines East High School, succumbed to his injuries at a local hospital. The Polk County Sheriff's Office has announced that Meinders has been charged with multiple offenses, including reckless driving, driving while barred (habitual offender), and causing an accident without insurance. The authorities are still investigating the incident, and Meinders is currently hospitalized after the crash.
