Car stolen during police pursuit crashes at I-65 and St. Stephens
"News 5 is currently looking into a pursuit that culminated in a collision near the intersection of Interstate 65 and St. Stephens Road. Chief of Police Bryson McDaniel from Saraland reported that a 15-year-old is suspected of taking a white car that had been left running outside the Saraland Rouses around 5:45 p.m. After the car's owner discovered it missing, he alerted Saraland police who, upon investigation, learned that the Chickasaw Police Department had already been in pursuit of the vehicle due to its erratic driving. The chase entered Saraland city limits, prompting Saraland police to also join in the pursuit. The chase ultimately resulted in the juvenile losing control of the car and crashing into the overpass at I-65 and St. Stephens Road. Multiple law enforcement agencies including Saraland police, Prichard police, and the Mobile County Sheriff's Office are collaborating at the scene.
