Canton police officer killed in accident on route to work
A Canton police officer, Dave Wolgamott, tragically passed away after being involved in an accident on his way to work early Monday morning, the Canton Police Department confirmed. The incident occurred on the 800 block of Cherry Avenue Southeast just before 7 a.m. Officer Wolgamott was quickly taken to the hospital but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries. He had been a valued member of the Canton police force since 2006, serving in the patrol division and working in the jail.
