Call for bus safety laws after deadly accident

Assemblyman Scott Gray plans to advocate for a bill that would enforce seat belt usage for passengers on commercial buses when he returns to Albany in January. The legislation, inspired by tragic accidents where lack of seat belt use played a role, aims to implement safety measures similar to those in place on airplanes, such as pre-trip instructions and seat belt checks. Gray also aims to introduce another bill requiring regular safety inspections for motor coaches. Though these bills have not yet found sponsorship from a state senator, Gray remains committed to improving safety standards for bus passengers.
