Brooklyn crash video: Car split in half

Surveillance footage captured the harrowing moment when a black Honda Civic veered onto the sidewalk, colliding with a building and splitting the car into two parts, causing debris to scatter throughout the area. The impact left a multitude of trash and wreckage strewn across the intersection. Residents expressed disbelief at the scene, with one describing it as "crazy" and another noting the car was torn into several pieces despite initial perceptions of a multi-vehicle accident. Damage to a sidewalk shed in front of the building has prompted officials to identify a need for safety repairs. Reports from authorities reveal that the car, bearing a TLC livery plate, was left running at Regent Place and Flatbush Avenue before the tragic incident occurred. Witnesses recounted the alarming speed at which the vehicle passed by moments before the crash, underscoring the potential severity of the situation. Although the driver, a 41-year-old man, was discovered lying on the street and rushed to Kings County Hospital, he was regrettably pronounced deceased. His identity has not yet been disclosed.
