The Maryland State Highway Administration reports that all lanes are shut down on I-795 at Westminister Pike due to a multi-vehicle collision. Baltimore County Police responded to an accident involving a Carroll County ambulance and a tractor-trailer at 8:10 p.m. on Saturday. The ambulance, which was in emergency mode, was hit by the tractor-trailer at the Butler Road and Westminister Pike intersection while heading to a call in Baltimore County. The tractor-trailer was carrying fuel, but police confirmed that there was no leakage. Multiple victims were injured in the crash, prompting police to call in Maryland State Police for assistance. Two victims were airlifted to nearby hospitals by MSP helicopters, while others were treated at the scene and transported to hospitals by ambulance. An investigation is ongoing with support from the Baltimore County Crash Team, and authorities recommend avoiding the area.
