Authorities identify motorcyclist killed in accident; police officer involved in crash en route to scene
A tragic incident occurred in Clayton, NC over the weekend that resulted in a fatal collision between a motorcyclist and an SUV. The motorcycle accident occurred at the intersection of Amelia Church Road and Springwood Place around 1 p.m. The motorcyclist, identified as Alex Kenneth Arble, 31, was riding a 2009 Harley Davidson when he collided with a 2014 Jeep Cherokee, causing him to be ejected into oncoming traffic where he was struck by a 2018 Jeep Wrangler. Despite efforts to provide CPR at the scene, Arble tragically did not survive. The incident is currently under investigation, and no charges have been filed. Additionally, a Clayton Police officer en route to the scene was involved in a separate crash at the intersection of Amelia Church Road and Veteran’s Parkway. The officer was taken to Johnston Medical Center for treatment and was released the same day, with no other injuries reported. The N.C. State Highway Patrol has been called in to investigate the officer-involved crash.
