Authorities ask for help in ongoing investigation of deadly collision
Louisiana State Police are seeking the public's assistance in identifying a vehicle linked to a tragic accident involving a motorcycle that resulted in the loss of Harvey Gauthier's life. The incident occurred on October 17, 2025, around 5:00 a.m., on Louisiana Highway 347 near Lou Gauthier Road. A light-colored pickup truck in the vicinity of the crash is of interest to investigators, who are also trying to determine the identity of the 18-wheeler involved. The initial findings suggest that Gauthier, riding a Honda motorcycle, braked suddenly and lost control before being struck by the oncoming 18-wheeler. Gauthier suffered fatal injuries.
