
Asheboro police release more details after fatal multi-car crash
ASHEBORO, N.C. (WGHP) — Police have shared more details about a crash that killed a teenager and injured several others. According to the Asheboro Police Department, around 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, officers responded to a crash on East Dixie Drive at Dublin Road. Police say that Suzanne Lewis, 43, was driving on East Dixie Drive when she hit a second vehicle stopped at a red light. That vehicle then crashed into a third vehicle, which hit a fourth vehicle. A teenage passenger who had been in the backseat of the second vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene. One passenger, an adult, was flown to a medical facility with serious injuries. The driver and front seat passenger of that vehicle were taken to a medical facility with non-life-threatening injuries. The three people in the third vehicle were also treated for non-life-threatening injuries, and the driver of the fourth vehicle wasn't hurt.
