Arrest made in deadly shooting of Midvale victim

In a recent tragic incident in Midvale, a 23-year-old man from West Valley City named Mason Snowball was found deceased in a car near La Salle Drive and Jackson Street, due to a gunshot wound. After responding to the scene, Unified Police detective Quin Wilkins clarified that a car crash had taken place, but it was not the cause of Snowball's death. Following the investigation, a 14-year-old boy was arrested for suspected involvement in the homicide. Subsequently, Christiano Antonio Madison, 21, was also arrested for investigation of murder and aggravated robbery. Through surveillance footage and witness accounts, authorities identified suspects fleeing the scene after the fatal shot. Further examination led them to a residence in Midvale, where individuals were taken into custody for questioning. It was revealed that the suspects had planned to rob Snowball of drugs. With incriminating messages and photographs linking Madison to the crime, police discovered that all the involved individuals are part of the same criminal gang. Additionally, Madison had outstanding warrants because he was a fugitive at the time of the murder, having prior convictions related to robbery and assault.
