Army vet who nominated mail carrier for award needs assistance post accident
A veteran from North Carolina who once nominated a mail carrier as an Everyday Hero is now in need of community support. Matt Campbell, who was recently injured in a motorcycle accident after previously having his dog Buddy saved by the same mail carrier, Diane Boone, is known for his community involvement and is now the one in need. To help with his recovery, his friends have organized a benefit motorcycle ride scheduled for Sunday, September 7. Riders will meet at Duck Thru in Elizabeth City and ride south down Route 17 to Hertford, with the trip covering approximately 60 miles.
