6 students from Fort Pierce Central High hurt in bus crash after band event
During the return from a band competition, a group of Fort Pierce Central High School students were in an accident in the Bradenton area involving two school buses. An SUV hit one of the buses, causing it to collide with another bus. Six students sustained minor injuries and were taken to local hospitals, with five already discharged and one remaining for observation. The school superintendent expressed sympathy for those affected and praised the quick response of Manatee County Schools and local emergency services. After the incident, students were safely transported back to Fort Pierce Central on buses provided by Manatee County Schools. The school district extended their gratitude to Manatee County Schools for their prompt assistance.
