On Tuesday evening, Russell County Search and Rescue teams confirmed the tragic passing of a 55-year-old woman following a jet ski incident at Lake Cumberland. Upon receiving a distress call around 6:00 p.m. regarding an individual falling off a jet ski and not resurfacing, rescue teams reached the location to find the jet ski still operational, with the woman discovered deceased in the water.
