22-year-old woman killed in Platte Avenue crash, DUI suspected
The Colorado Springs Police Department has identified a 22-year-old woman, Jessenya Gaytan, who died in a car crash on Platte Avenue in Colorado Springs. The incident occurred on August 24 at 2:15 a.m. Reports indicated that a car had veered off the road and struck a tree. Jessenya Gaytan was found deceased at the scene, while two other individuals suffered serious injuries and were hospitalized. One of the injured individuals, Jayden Hendricks, has been charged with vehicular homicide, vehicular assault, and careless driving. Authorities suspect that alcohol played a role in the crash.
