2 individuals in critical but stable condition following I-90 accident
An accident occurred on the Berkshire Connector in Chatham, New York, involving a tractor-trailer and a jeep. The New York State Police reported that the incident occurred around 3:25 p.m. following exit B2 on I-90 westbound. The preliminary investigation revealed that a 2016 Kenworth tractor-trailer was struck from behind by a 2022 jeep while parked on the right shoulder. Two individuals in the jeep were trapped inside the vehicle, prompting the response of emergency crews. One was taken to Albany Medical Center by ambulance, while the other was airlifted. The scene was described as hectic and dangerous for firefighters, but with coordinated efforts, the situation was managed effectively. Various fire companies and EMS crews collaborated to help the victims. An investigation into the crash is still ongoing, as confirmed by the State Police.
