16-year-old and 35-year-old arrested after crash in Omaha

Omaha police arrested both a 16-year-old boy and a 35-year-old man following a collision that occurred near 25th Avenue & Vane Street early Sunday morning. The authorities responded to the incident at around 2:40 a.m. when a stolen 2017 Hyundai Sonata ran a stop sign at the intersection, resulting in a collision with a 2019 Chevy Tahoe. Three juveniles who were passengers in the stolen vehicle were hospitalized, with one in serious condition. The 16-year-old driver of the Hyundai was taken into custody and booked for car theft, while the other two passengers were released. The Hyundai had been reported stolen just 30 minutes before the accident. The driver of the Chevy Tahoe, a 35-year-old man, faces various charges, including DUI and willful reckless driving, as he had a prior DUI conviction.
