13-year-old boy dies in Dana Point while going to school; DUI suspect apprehended
A tragic incident occurred on Tuesday morning when a 13-year-old boy was fatally struck by a suspected DUI driver on his way to school. The heartbreaking event took place around 8:15 a.m. near the intersection of Park Lantern and Dana Point Harbor Drive. At the scene, a backpack and shoes were seen, and the area was cordoned off with crime scene tape. Despite being rushed to a nearby hospital, the boy succumbed to his injuries. The driver fled the scene but was apprehended a short distance away. Authorities have arrested the driver on suspicion of driving under the influence.
