12-year-old boy in Sartell removed from life support after bicycle accident

A young boy named Raghav Shrestha from Sartell, who suffered critical injuries in a bicycle accident earlier this week, was taken off life support by doctors who found no brain activity. Described as a cheerful and fun-loving 12-year-old who aspired to be a police officer, Raghav had a severe head injury even though he was wearing a helmet at the time of the incident. The Sartell Police Department shared that the accident occurred on Sunday, Oct. 5, near "Muskie Hill" in Northside Park. Despite his helmet, Raghav sustained a serious head injury leading to a cardiac arrest and stopped breathing. A bystander performed CPR until emergency responders arrived and rushed him to the Hennepin County Medical Center's pediatric intensive care unit. Police Chief Brandon Silgjord reported that Raghav's lifelong dream was to become a police officer, and they recently honored him by granting him an honorary police officer title with Sartell. The community is rallying around Raghav's family during this difficult time to offer support and comfort.
